protip: buy a good headset and it will last for as long as you treat it properly. I learnt this from breaking six £15 headsets in a year (I'm sure you remember the way I used to constantly change between them), and then eventually buying one which was worth £80 and lasted two years (6 year old brother spilled orange juice on it ggwp) and gave me a great experience the entire time.
I'm currently using a sennheiser PC363D and wholly recommend it, but if you want a cheap replacement that will last a long time and is actually pretty good I think you should put this in your winkelwagen.
@Vanquish The creative fatal1ty was my headset for as long as i started using gaming headsets (like 6-7 years) and everything is working good + great sound but it definitely is a headset that breaks pretty fast, loses the contact after a year or has visible cable problems in a few months. I used 3 or 4 of them in the mentioned time period but i think apart from that it's worth paying 30€ every second year and that's why i did it. Earlier this month my last one broke after not more than 2 years max and i got another creative hs from my brother for my birthday which is a bit more expensive but far not as comfortable for my ears and i will see how long it will stay alive cause i really take care of my stuff.
Remains to be seen if glass coffins become popular.
I never had that issue with mine. I still have one in a drawer in my desk actually and it's working fine, the quality just isn't as good as my current headset so it's gonna remain a backup. I did break one but it was accidental, I stepped on it while wearing ski shoes lol. :<
I've never had the same bad experiences as you with it, but in light of what you've said maybe Marti would be better off buying something else, idk. :/
